IoT Ready - The digital entry into networked production

The EDNA IoT Ready package from EMAG is the basis for an easy and secure entry into digital manufacturing. Every new EMAG machine from the Modular Standard segment is delivered "IoT Ready" ex works - i.e. with all the necessary hardware and software components to record and store production data. EMAG is thus laying the foundation for intelligent machine monitoring, data-based process optimization and the use of AI technologies in production.

Fully integrated system

The IoT Ready package combines the real machine world with digital applications. It includes all core components to capture relevant data. The architecture is scalable - from individual machines to complete production lines.

EDNA IoT Ready package with IoT Core & EDNA Cortex — Central components of the EDNA IoT Ready package: EDNA IoT Core & EDNA Cortex. These modules form the basis for digital machine networking.

Central components:

EDNA IoT Core - powerful industrial PC for the acquisition and pre-processing of all machine data (e.g. PLC, sensory equipment or process data).
Interfaces: MQTT, OPC UA, REST, CSV export.
The IoT Core stores data long-term (ring buffer over several months) and makes it available for other EDNA applications or third-party systems.
EDNA Cortex - software for secure access to all machine and process data.
It acts as a central data interface for internal applications and forms the basis for EDNA ONE IoT applications.
Uninterruptible power supply (UPS) - ensures a clean shutdown of the system and prevents data loss in the event of a power failure.

Installed ex works - immediately IoT ready

All EMAG Modular Standard machines are already equipped with the complete EDNA IoT hardware ex works.
This means that data is recorded from the first day of production without the need for external systems. The data remains at the customer's plant.

Control independence and flexibility

The IoT Ready package is completely controller-independent and can be operated with both Fanuc and Siemens controllers.

The architecture ensures maximum flexibility:
A wide range of interfaces enable easy integration into existing infrastructures - both to EMAG systems and to third-party systems.

Future-proof expandability

The IoT Ready package has a modular structure and grows with your requirements.
Thanks to the existing data storage and the prepared interfaces, additional EDNA applications or cloud functions can be activated at any time - without new hardware intervention.
