Cost-effective Manufacturing for the Automotive and Robotics Industries: Turning, Milling, Grinding, and Laser Welding
METALEX is the leading trade fair for machine tools and metalworking in Southeast Asia. For its 40th edition in Bangkok, over 3,000 brands from 50 countries will be exhibiting, and more than 100,000 trade visitors from the ASEAN region are expected to attend. There, we’ll show you how to manufacture drive, chassis, and robotics components in series production with precision and cost-effectiveness: using twin-spindle turning machines and ball-raceways milling machines, universal grinding machines, and a standardized laser welding system. Visit us from November 18-21, 2026, at BITEC Bangkok in Hall 99, Booth AT20 - our technology experts look forward to speaking with you.
We look forward to your visit!

Exhibits – Our Highlights:
Gear Components for Humanoid Robots: Reproducible Mass Production of Precision Parts
The performance of a joint actuator is determined by the manufacturing process of its gear components. At our booth, you’ll see actual workpieces: thin-walled flexsplines, wave generators, planetary gears, and planetary roller screw drives with their nuts. We’ll show you the right process chain for each component - such as the gear hobbing of flexsplines on the K 160 to gear quality grade 4, or the complete-machining of wave generators on the VLC 350 GT, which reduces cycle time by 30 to 40%. Hydraulic chucks protect thin-walled components from deformation. Your advantage: soft and hard machining from a single source, from prototypes to high-volume production.
ELC 6i: Laser welding of powertrain components - Faster commissioning, less space, and lower investment
Whether it’s a differential, transmission component, rotor, or intermediate shaft: The ELC 6i combines up to six process steps in a fully automated system - laser cleaning, joining, laser welding, and, optionally, double preheating and marking. A fixed transfer system with up to 18 workpiece carriers enables cycle times of less than 20 seconds in an area of approximately 21.5 m². This requires up to 36% less floor space than conventional lines, making integration into existing facilities easier. Thanks to standardized modules, capital investments are reduced by up to 15%, and the system is available up to 10% faster. Component changes can be completed in under 20 minutes - for workpieces up to 300 mm in diameter and height.
VSC 315 DUO KBU: Double-spindle ball tracks for constant-velocity joints - Soft and hard materials in a single setup
Ball tracks in joint housings and inner races must fit precisely - even when producing high volumes. The VSC 315 DUO KBU combines soft turning, soft milling, hard turning, and hard milling in a single setup. This helps you avoid clamping errors between operations and ensures consistent component quality. Two milling spindles on NC swivel units significantly increase productivity, while the pick-up spindle automates loading. Workpieces up to Ø 160 mm and 280 mm in length can be machined. For joint housings, cages, and hubs, we design the technology, tools, and automation as a complete package - from single machines to link-up systems - with binding commitments to cycle time and quality.
UG Series: Internal, external, out-of-round, and face-grinding in a single setup for higher accuracy
With the universal grinding machines of the UG series, you can perform grinding on internal, external, out-of-round, and end faces in a single setup. This saves lead time and improves accuracy - on test workpieces, the machines achieve a roundness of 0.5 µm. External grinding spindles with 7.5 or 11 kW operate at cutting speeds of up to 50 m/s. The swiveling B-axis (–15° to +225°, ±2 angular seconds) enables bevel grinding and combined internal/external machining. With models ranging from the UG 400 to the UG 1500, you can select the appropriate grinding length up to 1,500 mm for shafts, gears, and rings weighing up to 120 kg. The FANUC control system - with the optional 31i-B Plus for complex contours - is serviced worldwide.
VL 3 DUO: Complete turning of chucked components up to Ø 150 mm – OP 10 and OP 20 on a single machine
The VL 3 DUO performs machining on both sides of a chucked component on a single machine - eliminating the need for a second machine, saving space, and reducing handling effort. Two mirrored work areas, each equipped with a pick-up spindle (17.9 kW, 144 Nm) and a 12-station turret - also compatible with powered tools - operate in parallel. The TrackMotion automation system connects both work areas, flips the components between OP 10 and OP 20, and supplies the machine with up to 400 workpieces from a pallet magazine - enabling long, unmanned runs. Typical components include gears, sprockets, and transmission components up to 110 mm in length. The machine is IoT-ready ex works and can be linked-up with production lines.
From single machines to production lines: Come talk to us at METALEX 2026
Whether it’s a gear component for humanoid robots, a constant-velocity joint, or a powertrain assembly: We view your manufacturing task as a whole. Turning, milling, grinding, and laser welding technologies, clamping concepts, and automation are all provided by a single source and are perfectly coordinated - this shortens your project timelines and simplifies the ramp-up of new components. Bring your current projects and drawings with you: Our technology experts will answer your questions about machines, process design, and automation right at the booth.
We look forward to welcoming you from November 18–21, 2026, at BITEC Bangkok, Hall 99, Booth AT20!

METALEX 2026 will take place from November 18 to 21, 2026, at BITEC (Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre) in Bangkok, Thailand. The exhibition will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on all four days. This year, METALEX is celebrating its 40th edition: Over 3,000 brands from 50 countries will showcase machine tools, metalworking, automation, and measurement technology for the ASEAN market.
You can register online in advance as a trade visitor at no cost. After registering, you’ll receive your visitor badge immediately and will be kept informed about the latest news regarding the exhibition. For groups of three or more people from the same company, the organizer offers a separate group registration option.
We offer customized process chains for key gear components in humanoid robots. These include flexsplines, wave generators, planetary gears, as well as planetary roller screw drives and their nuts. For each component, we combine the appropriate technologies - turning, gear hobbing, gear cutting, and cylindrical grinding - and, upon request, also design the automation. This way, you receive both soft and hard machining from a single source, from prototypes to high-volume production.
A visit is particularly worthwhile for manufacturers and suppliers who produce precision components in medium to high volumes. This includes automotive suppliers with powertrain and chassis components such as differentials, rotor shafts, or constant-velocity joints; manufacturers of robotic transmission components; as well as companies in transmission manufacturing, tool and fixture construction, and general precision mechanics. At our booth, you’ll learn how to reduce cycle times, save space, and automate process chains.
You’ll find us in Hall 99, Booth AT20, at BITEC Bangkok - you’re welcome to visit us on any day of the exhibition, even without an appointment. If you’re planning an in-depth technical discussion about a specific project, we recommend scheduling an appointment in advance. This ensures that the appropriate technology expert will have time for you. Please feel free to send us your inquiry with details about the workpiece and quantity.
