EMAG at MSV 2026 in Brno
Visit EMAG at MSV 2026 – October 6-9 at the Brno Exhibition Center, Hall P, Booth 086
MSV is Central Europe’s leading industrial trade show. In nine halls, approximately 1,300 exhibitors from all key sectors of mechanical and electrical engineering will showcase how manufacturing can be made more productive, flexible, and digital, with a clear focus on machining and forming processes. EMAG and its Czech representative, CZ Tech, will present a cost-effective solution for batch production of chucked components in Brno: the VL 3 DUO.
Come experience the VL 3 DUO in person, and speak with our technology experts about your specific manufacturing needs, from workpiece analysis to automation of your production line.
We look forward to your visit!
Vertical turning of chucked components in two operations – experience the VL 3 DUO live at MSV 2026
VL 3 DUO: Twin-spindle vertical turning for high-productivity batch production of chucked components
Manufacturers of chucked components in medium to large-scale production must balance two requirements: high output and a small footprint. The VL 3 DUO meets this challenge by offering two mirror-image work areas. The first and second sides of a workpiece (OP 10 and OP 20) can be finished on a single machine. There is no need to transfer the workpiece to a second machine because complete machining takes place as a continuous process. Alternatively, both spindles can be used for simultaneous machining when high output is the priority.
Each work area has its own pick-up spindle with up to 17.9 kW of power and 144 Nm of torque, providing ample reserve for fast, precise machining. A 12-station turret on each side that can be equipped with powered tools allows for additional drilling and milling operations in the same setup. Since the pick-up spindle handles loading and unloading independently and each work area has its own temporary part storage, non-productive times remain short.
For unmanned operation, the VL 3 DUO can be equipped with the TrackMotion automation system. The TransLift NC gripper transports workpieces on a rail directly behind the work areas, between the parts magazine and the spindles. It turns the workpieces over between OP 10 and OP 20. The raw parts magazine with stacker pallets can hold up to 400 components, providing enough capacity for long runs without operator intervention. Despite its compact design, both work areas remain easily accessible, reducing setup times during workpiece changeovers. The machine can easily be linked with other EMAG machines to form a production line. It is delivered IoT-ready from the factory, allowing you to immediately use machine data to reduce downtime.
