Product quality as a contribution to environmental protection

We view the quality of our machines as a key factor in environmental protection. Our durable and energy-efficient machine tools are characterized by high manufacturing quality. They are designed for minimal wear, which increases their productivity and reduces the associated energy consumption per workpiece produced.
Special attention is paid to recyclability and environmental compatibility in all machines. By using recyclable materials and resource-efficient production processes, EMAG aims to extend the life cycle of its machines and continuously reduce their environmental impact.

As a company, we firmly integrate environmental protection into our daily processes and manage our operational procedures through an ISO 14001-certified environmental management system.
Resources and Emissions:
We systematically monitor our energy and resource consumption, waste generation, and emissions. We use modern technologies to optimize the efficiency of our facilities. When procuring goods and services, we prioritize solutions that improve energy and resource efficiency. Proper, certified waste transport and professional disposal are standard practice for us.
Process and Product Assessment:
We analyze the environmental impacts of our operational processes and products. We use the insights gained to continuously evaluate the environmental performance of our sites within the framework of this certified management system. We specifically develop our technologies further so that they also contribute to reducing resource and energy consumption during the product’s use phase at our customers’ sites.
Risk Prevention and Compliance:
We implement preventive measures to avoid environmentally relevant incidents and minimize their effects. Compliance with all applicable environmental laws and regulations is the binding foundation of our actions. In this regard, we work closely with the relevant authorities.

In addition, we are subject to various national and international energy- and climate-related legal requirements. Our locations subject to these obligations are responsible for their implementation. They are audited by internal and external experts.

EMAG's Energy Policy

The efficient use of energy and the continuous optimization of our consumption are an integral part of our documented business processes. Compliance with applicable legal requirements forms the foundation upon which we continuously evaluate and implement additional measures to increase energy efficiency based on measurable criteria.
The provision of the necessary information and resources is firmly established within each company and is supported by our ISO 50001-certified energy management system at the EMAG site in Zerbst. We promote energy-conscious behavior among our workforce at all levels through targeted training courses and regular, energy-focused awareness campaigns. Compliance with our internal guidelines and energy performance are systematically reviewed and evaluated as part of annual management reviews and disclosed to our stakeholders in our annual voluntary sustainability report.
For new investments as well as the replacement of equipment and services, energy payback and efficiency are standardized, data-driven evaluation criteria in the procurement process. Likewise, the continuous improvement of energy efficiency is a core criterion in the design and development of our own machine solutions; our development goals are aligned with current industry benchmarks. When procuring energy, we use alternative and renewable energy sources wherever this is physically and economically feasible according to the current state of the art.
