Hands-on experience in manufacturing – construction phase

The mechanical and electrical construction of the basic EMAG machine has been completed. Fitting of the machine cover panels is not finished yet. Workholding equipment is visible and accessible. Electrical functionality is not there yet.

The benefits:

  • You will become familiar with and understand the basic construction of the machine and its building blocks
  • You will become familiar with the function of the special purpose equipment
  • You have learned the optimal approach to the diagnosis and correction of faults
  • You are able to plan wear-and-tear and spare part stocks
  • You are able to procure the tools required for the maintenance work and to suggest improvements

Objectives:

  • To increase machine availability
  • To reduce maintenance and repair costs
  • To optimize wear-and-tear and spare part stocks
  • To optimize tool procurement

Central elements (depending on participants and their interests):

  • A look at the basic machine
  • A look at the special-purpose equipment
  • Description of the special-purpose equipment and its function, using drawings, and a visit to the actual object
  • Description of the electrical cabinet and its contents
  • Description of control system and drives
  • Advice on inspection and maintenance
  • Where applicable, hands-on support in the assembly of the special-purpose equipment
  • Suggestions for improvements

Minimum requirements:

Comparable experiences with machine tools

Course participants:

Mechanical engineers, electricians, maintenance personnel

1 - 4 participants

Minimum of 2 days recommended
