Hands-on experience in manufacturing – commissioning phase

The EMAG manufacturing system is ready to be started in Automatic mode – or the first workpieces are already being machined. Dimensional accuracy and 100 % functionality are not yet given. The first faults that could affect basic machine operation have been corrected.

The benefits:

  • You have an overview of the manufacturing system or the production line
  • You are feeling capable of handling the operating elements and repetitive operating cycles of the machines
  • You are able to interpret important program parameters and to enter the relevant data
  • You know everything you have to do to achieve and maintain the required long-term component quality
  • You are able to recognize any possible malfunctions for what they are and know what to do to overcome them

Objectives:

  • To produce components of the best quality and the highest precision
  • To noticeably increase machine availability
  • To increase the process integrity of the production cycle
  • To improve your professional competence and sense of responsibility

Central elements (depending on participants and their interests):

  • A visit to the manufacturing system
  • Discussing the operations carried out on the various machines, using tooling layouts and workpiece samples
  • Familiarization with the safety equipment
  • Familiarization with the various machine modules, such as gantry loaders, loading robots, transport systems, workholding equipment, steadies, attachments
  • Familiarization with measuring equipment (types, calibration, correcting measurements, changes in tolerances)
  • Familiarization with machine operation, independent operation with support from EMAG personnel
  • Familiarization with the first mechanical and electrical faults and watching how they are corrected, or correcting them yourself
  • Setup, tool changes
  • Presenting suggestions for improvement

Minimum requirements:

Comparable experience with machine tools

Course participants:

Mechanical engineers, electricians, maintenance personnel, operators, production managers, supervisors, team leaders, setters and others
