The VTC 315 DS from EMAG, a vertical 4-axis grinding machine, provides the basis for synchronous support grinding. The two grinding spindles are on compound slides with linear roller guides on the left and right of the workpiece. Two additional NC axes moved by steady rest are used for the synchronous support grinding operation. This is placed on the part that requires grinding and moves synchronously to the grinding wheels.
