VLC 1200 production machine – for parts up to 1200 mm in diameter and 2000 kg in weight

The VLC 1200 – currently the largest pickup machine in the world – can vertically machine parts up to 1200 mm in diameter and 2000 kg in weight. As always at EMAG, automation is integrated, so that the VLC 1200 production machine practically loads itself. Primary applications for these production machines are large chucking parts from the construction (drive technology), wind energy and industrial gearbox industries.

 

EMAG offers a tool changer with chain magazine to enable use of the VLC 1200 production machine in a flexible work environment.


A milling spindle is installed opposite to the turning tool holder, which can also be configured with a Y-axis, if necessary. This allows the use of various tools in the production machines.

The VLC 1200 – at the moment the largest pick-up machine in the world – can vertically machine workpieces of up to 1,200 mm diameter and 2,000 kg in weight. As always with EMAG, automation forms an integral part of the machine.

Technology integration: turning, boring, milling, grinding, hobbing – all in a single machine.

The VLC 1200 production machine is configured as a rigid turning platform. The pickup work spindle, with direct drive synchronous motor (no gearbox), provides high power and torque. By using direct drives, even technologies that require a very high degree of control and synchronized characteristics (e.g. grinding or hobbing) can be integrated in the production machines. The integrated A-axis supports helical tooth cutting, and the B-axis supports angular plunge grinding.
